Lots of choice & we picked a bluebell one & three speckledy ones.
Will take a photo tomorrow when they venture outside.
We hope they are bonding nicely with the four established ones we have & nobody is being bossed about. Harry keeps checking.
Three good things:
1. The gentle sound of hens chatting away in their box in the back of the car while I was waiting for Harry to pick up the bread order.
2. St. George's Day the patron saint of England, quite a lot of flags flying this year.
3. Potatoes planted.
At least you are still able to get out and about which always helps. It takes more than a broken ankle to stop us doesn't it.
Look forward to the photos of your new chooks.
I know that older hens can be quite vicious to new hens so lets hope there is no violence! Its all about the 'pecking order'! @ladymagpie I think the only indoor chicken you could have is the one that has a spell in an oven!
Looking forward to seeing the new arrivals -- I hope there were no feathers flying and squabbling in the henhouse over night -- I wonder what will ginger think of the new arrivals and will she try to join in at the "Hen Party" again -- you should adopt Ginger as well Pat !! lol !
@beryl She will be curious when she looks through the netting Beryl as up to now she has been the only ginger coloured hen. The new ones are a similar colour, a bit paler perhaps but definitely gingery like her. We would adopt Ginger with pleasure but Amanda & family love her too & I notice lately that she's also going to the house next door to us & Anne is feeding her too!
Looking forward to seeing a bluebell hen - new to me.
Look forward to the photos of your new chooks.
