I had never tasted a macaroon until I went to Melbourne. I was always put off by the rather vivid colouring, I did not know what I was missing!
As soon as I'm well enough I'm going to have a go making some.
Three good things:
1. Reading a wonderful querky book called A Man Called Ove. Translated from its Swedish original, it's a laugh out loud book in places & very moving in others.
2. A frozen leftover Shepherds Pie for supper.
3. Start of my third week!
I love macaroons but I'm sure they have lots of sugar in them, just think of my figure. A frozen leftover Shepherds pie, if it's frozen do you have to use a hammer and chisel to eat it.
Macaroons seem to be very popular nowadays but I think they are just a sugar overload! Would rather have an egg sandwich! Good picture here of the arcade!
Such lovely shopping spaces there.....some in big stores and some in little lanes! Laura is very into macaroons! She's quite an expert.....and loves to make cakes for special occasions for friends.
Keep cosy......it's freezing up here!
