It was weird when they used the saw, a strange sort of tickly vibrating feel & I was nervous to see the saw moving along near my leg. He did just catch my foot below my toe but didn't draw blood!
My foot & ankle are quite swollen but I am going to really do my exercises properly so I can wear my nice shoes for a wedding in June.
Three good things:
1. I can wear my skinny jeans again!
2. A proper bath!
3. Rose & Geranium soap.
I think I would have had a good dose of camera shake trying to take that picture while they were attacking you with the buzz saw! You're going to do really well and be up and dancing again in no time at all!
@judithdeacon I'm surprised it came out as clear as this Judith as I was moving all the time! I am walking quite well considering but it is a bit painful at first.
@cruiser it was slightly nerve wracking I agree & I think he rushed too as the clinc was running 100 minutes late. I had been there for an hour & a half before I saw anyone!
Oh well it's onwards and upwards from now on Pat! I've got all this to come next week when I go in for my op which I am not looking forward to - especially the bit about not driving for 6 weeks!
Oh do I remember that experience. The doc who cut mine off actually burned my skin and when I complained of it hurting he just went ahead doing what he was doing. When I showed him the wound after it was off, he didn't say a thing
Glad you've had it off today (Doesn't that sound naughty). Huff, I can't wear skinny jeans, nor have a bath as I've only got a shower room. Just behave yourself now.
@rosiekind Oh dear Rosie, that's not something to look forward to, I hope you're stacking up lots of photos! Good luck with it all anyway. I was surprised I have not been champing at the bit to drive my car but have been quite content to sit in the garden & read! I think your body will adapt to your circumstance & want to just stay home!
@ladymagpie He he thanks Heather, I haven't had a bath for years but just fancied a good some this afternoon. A leg shave & plenty of moisturiser but I have a very brown knee & toes & white leg in the middle!
@quietpurplehaze Yes I can cover them up in my trousers now. I have been wearing dresses a lot as my trousers are too narrow but got my jeans on tonight!!
I bet you're exciting about getting it off. I broke my wrist years ago (I was in grade 7). I'll never forget when they took the cast off. My arm had shrink!
So glad to see its "bye bye cast and hello leg "- it couldn't be a very nice sensation having the cast sawed off -- glad he did not draw blood !! but I am sure you are delighted to be free
Glad to hear the cast is off. It will take ages for the swelling to go down, hope you are able to wear your shoes for the wedding. If not you will have to wear one shoe. I've still got one ankle fatter than the other. Shoes fit ok though.
@happypat Not entirely and it took a while for mine to go down initially. Physio helped though. My left ankle still swells up slightly after I have been walking for a while, but not too bad.
So pleased you've got your leg back Pat. Take it steady though. Frustrating but worth it. You can work on getting the white part of your leg brown. Are you having physio?
How did I miss this occasion on my feed? Belated congratulations on getting your plaster off - sounds like you're doing well with getting back up to normal.
Leg swollen up tonight so a bit to go yet! Thank you all!
Oh, sorry - temporary camouflage - black leggings?
Thank you all & I am relieved it's off!
Great memory shot.
