Students lodgings

Three of us went to visit Lydia's new student lodgings house in Fallowfield today.
Second year so moving out of halls into a house is a big step. Six of them sharing with the boys in the next street.
A nice big living area & a bedroom each it seems to have all they need including a dishwasher!!
Once they get all their own stuff around them it will seem like home from home!

Three good things:
1. Chance to see a part of Lydias new life as she goes into her second year at uni.
2. Negotiating terrible traffic on the roads coming home tonight!
3. The bruising seems to be coming out of my hand & thumb, it's going yellow!
That seems a good half-way house to being totally independent.

Sounds like fun times ahead for Lydia.

@jmj @julzmaioro Hopefully fun times ahead, longer to get to uni of course but it seems a nice quiet area & safer oerhaos than the centre of Manchester at night.

@karens54 @dide Yes happy days when you look back! She doesn't go there until the new term in September & they are going to paint the rooms again so they will be nice & fresh, it was nice to see where she was going.

How exciting for Lydia. How many years will she be at uni?
You will have to take a photo of the colour of the bruises on your thumb. Hope it isn't too painful.

I think we need to,wrap you in cotton wool. I don't think I could handle any more injuries at the moment, would be the final straw. Please be careful 😍

Do we remember our 2nd year at 'varsity when we left the safety of the Halls and went out on our own! I do! But these memories won't go into a written diary! This building looks well constructed and maybe warm when its cold! Ours was a old villa with no insulation and an outside toilet!!

@maggiemae ha an outside toilet would be a real shock! This place is heated & looks quite cosy, will be better when cleaned up & all the girls have their rooms as they like them five minutes walk from a supermarket & food places etc so no need to go into the city so all in all a good move. Think they will have fun!

@andreajoy thanks Andrea, I have been a walking disaster this year, you will know how easy it is to injure other places when you're awkward on your legs. Hope you're taking care & slowly getting going again. It's a longer job than you think! X

About 20 mins away so will have to get organised in the mornings! Lydia is a good getter upper so she will be fine! Cooler here this morning !

You've got to watch that yellow peril Pat, take it careful your not as young as I think you are. Good for Lydia, lets hope it becomes home from home.
