That's the name of this bowling afternoon where lots of bowlers compete together in a mass bowl!
I went to support my friend who is president of the club I used to belong to.
I went for a couple of hours in between bed making!
Three bad things:
1. Wedding guests as B&Bers. They come in late making a noise & won't get up in the morning!
2. All want to pay by card so have to go off in the morning to the cash hole to get some money delaying their departure even longer.
3. Ask for full English & leave half on the plate!
@quietpurplehaze the left food for me Hazel, I can't stand waste, we never waste anything if we can help it in this house! Good job Harry didn't see it, I scraped it in the bin before he noticed it!
Oh dear, what thoughtless guests. I agree with you about hating waste. Maybe just dry toast for them tomorrow?! I'm glad you were able to get out and be calmed by the bowling.
oh dear, I was surprised to see 3 bad things from you too! Don't know how anyone can leave a full English!! I was on a ferry through a VERY rough crossing yesterday and still managed to finish one off :-) They sound very thoughtless though. Hopefully you won't see them again.
A lovely sight with all looking keen and competitive on the green , and a relaxing time for the spectator --I see you had a dry sunny day like us today . So sorry to hear your B&Bers were rather unruly !! - some have no consideration for others and for wasting good food at breakfast time -surely they could have asked for small portions ,one of my pet hates is food waste --poor you , lets hope this is the last you see of them !!
@beryl I'm sorry to say Beryl that wedding guests on the whole by the very nature & reason for the stay are not the best guests. They might be perfectly nice people but in celebrating mode, too much drink occasionally & the wish to loll in bed all morning! The youngs ones that is not the older sensible ones! I wonder if @susiemc has epany thoughts on the matter?
You managed to get this super photo even after your guests left ... I hope one good photo and the relaxing time watching the game canceled out your three bad things!
I'm with you in the wasting food department - it's far too expensive and precious to waste.
@phil_howcroft Yes no boring flat green for us Phil! I don't play anymore as I never took it up again after we moved but Harry plays once a week for fun.
@sangwann Really Dione, that is very interesting, I can't imagine how a cylindrical bowl rolls along! We play our bowls on a green with a rise in the middle & it's called crown green bowling. Very popular in the north west of England. The bowls or woods as we call them are weighted at one side so depending which side you play the weight the wood curves round. Sometimes a wood can be sent that curves completely as in some golf shots.
We hardly waste any food either, Pat - I'm very (safely) inventive with leftovers!
I can imagine how you feel about your wedding guests.
