Mill wheel by happypat

Mill wheel

My youngest son Anthony will be interested in this photo as this old mill was one of a number of buildings he helped convert into a lovely house.
Before he went to NZ he had a period of working for a local builder & Anthony was pretty good at the building job even if his heart wasn't really in it.
This mill house is just at the bottom of the hill from us so we know them well. Richard has recently added this water wheel to the side of the house & I think it looks great.

Three good things:
1. Talked to our busy eldest son in NZ as he comes towards the end of calving almost seven hundred cows over the last seven weeks.
2. Eventually got my two bedrooms done in between reading my very enjoyable book.
3. My friends MRI scan is clear with only a slight treatable problem.
Lovely ve this composition with its reflections.

Another 'Constable picture'! I love the old mill with the water wheel. I wonder if he ever gets flooded?

@jmj No only in the field Jennifer. The wheel doesn't actuall sit in the water & is only half a one. The bottom half is missing & the top half just rests on the ground but looks very effective I think.

Lovely image - I've just looked at all the ones you posted while I was away. Lovely. I did giggle about your three bad things - how annoying to cook all that food and it not be appreciated.
