We are lucky enough to have two beautiful granddaughters, one in the UK & the other in NZ.
Here is Lydia, number two granddaughter standing in St. James's Park London just prior the being presented with her DOE gold medal.
Lydia has just started her second year studying Speech Therapy.
We have been sorting out our passports this morning. I made mistakes on both application forms so they both had to be re done. Two new photos were needed so off we went to Timpsons, a better option we thought than those kiosks.
Harry wasn't happy with his so the kind lady did his again!
Should take three weeks so plenty of time for my Christmas trip to Dublin.
Three good things:
1. Beautiful granddaughters that make you so proud.
2. For the first time ever I really like my passport photo!
3. Almost time to get my lovely big coat out...I was cold in Garstang this morning.
Granddaughters are very special.. and Lydia looks /sounds very special. Well I think you would have to be the first person ever you say they like there passport photo.
Were you allowed to smile in your passport photo? And do you have to have a passport to go to Ireland??
Lydia has done well to get this award - its not easy and so many pull out because its too difficult or too uncomfortable!
@maggiemae No smiles but I practised before I went for the photo by staring at the mirror but just lifting the corners of my mouth slightly somi didnt look as grim. I need a passport to go by air but when we go by coach we don't need one. Thanks re Lydia, she did have some hard times trekking across wild country but their group got on so well & all enjoyed it!
Thank you all ladies for your lovely comments & faves for Lydia. She will be pleased to read them all when they get home. It sounds like they had a lovely time in St James's Palace.
Lovely shot and congratulations to her, you must be so proud of her.
I don't think anyone likes their passport photos. I always look as though I am about to be shot.
Gorgeous girl and well done to her on her award. My niece Eilidh is in the final stages of her Gold award too.....it's worth more than any exams as it is so full of life skills.
