Filling in the holes

Dark wet miserable November day if you're working outside.

Thank you for all your concern re our family in NZ after the earthquake there on Sunday & another yesterday. Family in North Island felt it but was just scary but Alex who lives around Christchurch was worst affected & her little house rocked & rolled all over the place making her sea sick.
We talked to her this morning as of course her mum & dad are over here at the moment. She sounded cheery if tired & had been out to get bread etc while stocks last.
Some farmers above Kaikoura have had water pipes burst & milking systems broken which is disastrous at the height of the milking year. No milk tankers to take the milk away either & into the time to get cows in calf too which will affect next years production.

As usual New Zealander's are pulling together & helping each other.

Three good things:
1. All here for tea tonight so another good get together. Lydia back for her placement & mum& dad picking her up from here so coming for tea too.
2. My brother & SIL called for coffee this morning.
3. My backache is better today.
Looks line the reno is progressing.. I feel so dorky for the farmers in the quake zone.. devastating to be not being able to milk the cows and if the can to not being able to do anything with the milk with road and rail being cut off... just a query.. Alex near Cambridge???

A dull and dark day here too -- just the day to sort out paperwork which has been neglected -- a dull day for a dull job !! Glad you had a chat with Alex and that she is not too badly effected -- So sorry to hear of the farmers and their problems -- hop they will be sorted out soon !! But a lot is in the laps of the GODS !!

Don't you mean Oxford, Pat - where Alex is? @julzmaioro Easy to think its the other name! But Cambridge is in the North Island.. Sounds like a great family get together which will probably be noisy and fun! This picture shows good solid brickwork going on here! Will be a strong house,

@maggiemae @julzmaioro Oh yes not Cambridge Julz, @maggiemae is right, got confused! She is near Christchurch in a place called Burnham. Yes this house in coming together nicely but lots to do outside still.

@jgpittenger so has mine Jane, not the photography so much as the commenting. I feel mean not commenting but it's hard when we have visitors & lots going on plus an odd glass of wine, makes me sleepy at night in front of the fire. Last thing I want to do at the moment is comment yet I love keeping in touch with everyone.

@beryl Yes a good office day Beryl, lights on a lot but that's November fir you. I rather like the dark days, bunker down round the fire time.

@gijsje Big problems for farmers, I'm not sure how they will sort it out either, poor cows will be uncomfortable.
