Christmas Day number one by happypat

Christmas Day number one

A full Christmas dinner today with all the carols, crackers pressies & stuff that makes a great Christmas Day.
Eight of us sat down to eat our early dinner before Brian & Lesley fly home to NZ tomorrow.
I haven't cooked a proper Christmas dinner for so long but everything went so smoothly it was a pleasure doing it.

To us today it's Christmas Day in our house.

Happy Christmas everybody, xxxxx

Three good things:
1. I am converted to buying a turkey crown. I have resisted up to now as I love the legs best but today the crown was a doddle to cook & carved beautifully!
2. The pudding flamed beautifully!
3. A very expensive white wine given to me by a B&B went down beautifully. Greywacke 2013 by Kevin Judd from NZ if any of you are wine buffs!

Unfortunately we had some absentees. William, Alex,
Ant, Jo, Max, Finn & Jack were absent but not forgotten.
Merry Christmas.. good to be able to do read it out.. pleased you had a NZ wine.. not one I know will have to check it out.

What a lovely image. We had Christmas number one at our place last night - around 40 relos from my husband's side of the family. It was 'pot luck', so everyone helped with the catering. We sat out on the deck as the weather was lovely. I didn't even get the camera out, but just enjoyed catching up with everyone.

That is just a wonderful photo! Such fun and enjoyment round the table and love the lights of the tree on the left! Great memory making and that's just what you need when family are around the world. Hope they have a good flight home!

What a good idea to have two christmases! (Not sure if that is even a word - but hey) It looks like the food is being thoroughly enjoyed. That NZ wine sounds good - will check out that for sure.
