In the summer these berths at Fleetwood yacht club are full of different size yachts of all shapes & styles.
All pretty much deserted in the winter.
Freeport village & my third visit in a fortnight, not a place I go to normally from one year to the next!
Fleetwood had once a thriving & busy fishing industry but sadly has gone the way all the other fishing towns in the UK. No fishing at all now sadly & the town is a shadow of its former self.
A lot more could be said about that!!
Sorry I seem to have got behind a bit with commenting specially with the new followers, I will do better!
Three good things:
1. I got an appointment to have my ear syringed today at last at Fleetwood same day health place. It hurt!
2. A postcard from NZ.
3. The smell of Fishermans Friend cough lozenges as I drove past the factory this afternoon.
A great pov Pat with the lonely boat and its reflections Hope the ear will recover quickly from the treatment , Could do with some of the "fishermen's friend -- my head is sore and bunged up with a head cold and have felt pretty miserable today and have done nothing all day but cooked dinner and washed up ! So boring !
@jesperani Sad to see Jennifer, Fleetwood was fishing through & through. Your father in law must be sad to see it, they worked so hard in all weathers.
I didn't recognise this as one of yours, Pat! This little yacht must have come in from ports afar to be here in these wintery quiet waters. Your ear clean shouldn't have been painful?
A beautiful shot, Pat. That sloop looks a bit lonely, but beautiful, in the wintertime yacht club setting. So disturbing to read that Fleetwood's fishing industry is no more. I hope your ear is much better after the procedure. Nothing more annoying than a plugged up ear.
Hope you feel much better soon. In the circumstances I think cooking dinner plus washing up is a pretty good achievement!
