I've been to see the film 'Lion' this afternoon & I can truly say it's one of the best films I have ever seen.
A true story about a five year old Indian boy gets lost from his family & is eventually adopted by an Australian couple. Twenty five years later, with only a handful of memories and Google Earth, he sets out to find his lost family and finally return to his first home.
It's the weepiest film I have ever seen not helped by the fact that the dear little five year old actor is a dead ringer for our three year old Finn only a different colour. Those little legs in their baggy shorts just undid me!
If you can cope with the emotion I recommend it heartily, La La Land doesn't compare!
Thank you for all the lovely faves on yesterday's Boys on Hills photo taking it onto the PP.
Three good things:
1. Our local hardware store came up trumps with a corn broom I need for the weekend.
2. Big hankies
3. A lady doctor has bought the cafe & Bonds ice cream making business so Harry's bowling club is not going to lose their refreshment place after their game.
Such a feel of desertion in this B/W shot The mist out to sea and only 3 brave figures and the dog graving the wide open space . Sounds a lovely film Pat
Love that negative space! Going to book tickets for Lion at the weekend and embarrass myself - can't be much worse than Cinema Paradiso which made by face sore I cried so long. I love Bonds!!
@judithg take a big hankie Judith but it was oh so good! Yes Bonds is famous! We have bird flu six miles away so our poor hens are stuck inside forever!
I like this shot for the expanse of sky and the figures on the beach as well as the water curves! Thanks for being our film critic - I heard similar thoughts about Lala Land - over rated! A lady doctor ......-is she going to give out ice creams if you are a good little patient?
You've got me convinced to go see Lion - and to bring a big box of Kleenex with me! LOL!
I love a good cry!
This is an awesome shot that shows the expansiveness with the people in it.
I will have to put Lion on my must see list.
I haven't seen the movie Lion, but I have read the book and that is quite a tearjerker.
