A hectic day today!
I never knew getting ready for a wedding was such a very prolonged & expensive job!
We have had the florist, hairdresser, make up artist, photographer, wedding car chauffeur plus both sets of parents together with step parents all in my house at once!
When I look back on my wedding, daughters wedding & DIL's wedding there was nothing like this going on.
I enjoyed every minute mind you but they didn't go until 1.45 so it's been a long day!
Such lovely girls & there was lots of laughter & chatting last night! I must say the bridesmaids dresses were lovely, navy lace!
Thought I better show you the wedding party as they left for the church.
Three good things:
1. There was just one large glass of prosecco left in one of the bottles, I drank it with my evening meal.
2. They left the bedrooms very tidy & nothing left behind.
3. Strangely I had an email this morning asking if I did wedding packages! I think not somehow!!
I was about to comment on the shoes as well.. BM dresses look very practical and a wear after dress.. yes I would he back on the wedding packages as well.. may not all go so well as this one..
@julzmaioro Just avlong morning Jukz, the wedding want until 2pm. I never thought to ask when she came round to book, good job I had no one in tonight! They were all delightful but too much for me at my time of life! Luckily it was a lovely day, I dread to think what it would have been like if it had been wet!
That's a lovely natural photo with them looking at the flower girl rather than the camera! I can see Harry in the background doing something with the trailer - are they all going to the church in it?
@maggiemae how funny, trust you to see Harry there looking quite uninterested in all the wedding stuff Maggie! Yes he could have hooked the trailer up couldn't he?
Lovely capture. My wedding was done on a shoestring. I was a very poor student nurse and John didn't earn a lot. We even did our own catering with help from a friend who had her own cafe.
@carolmw So was I Carol & our wedding was just at home. I walked to church just down the road & mum & dad did have a nice house in the country with a conservatory so we had the food at home. That sounds terrible but it wasn't in that good nick. Spent ten days in my families caravan in the Lakes.
@onewing Yes & to be honest the make up looked very nice but I'm sure they could have done their own. It's all the prep that's fun I suppose but that's how it is these days.
Lovely to see.. As soon as you think 'wedding ' these days the whole cost thing goes crazy. Our 'newly weds are coming next week 17 months after their little event. Just as happy as any couple....maybe more so and with the resources to come for a visit home on holiday.
Where will all the expense end one wonders!
