I walked about five miles this afternoon taking one of the circular roads round the village. A lovely afternoon on roads I know well but not as a walker, you can look over hedges & see things you don't normally see!
The farm you see here ahead of me is the tidiest & best run farm in the area. I walked past & saw the farmers wife in the garden. Told her the farm was a credit to them but she was quite reserved, I don't think she goes out much, not like me! They do work hard!
Three good things:
1. I have time & inclination to do other things in my life than working every hour of the day.....that was in the past when we farmed full time, 365 days a year!
2. Blister plasters, I came home with a blister on the sole of my foot.
3. Harry had been out & on his way home picked me up in the car just before the final hill....I was so glad to see him!
The hedge is very neat... a.d looks like a great day for a walk... what a lovely blue sky..
Farmers wives need to have a life beyond the farm gate .. or they would never see any one
.. that's my story and I'm sticking to it... lol...
@julzmaioro And mine too Julz! I decided half way through my farming life after the kids were grown that if I wanted to do anything I had to do it myself!
I love how you tell us about your day in such a relaxed and interesting way. It sounds like you had quite a walk, so that was nice your knight in shining armour turned up at just the right time.
You are a fit girl !! -- lovely country roads for a walk though , beautiful neat hedge and neat and tidy farm buildings in the distance ! I am sure you were so pleased to see your knight in shining armour ! and a cup of tea on your return was also much needed I am sure !
Lovely place for a walk. Glad Harry spotted you on your return home. If that had been David he would probably have driven straight past me, not because he wouldn't want to pick me up it is just that I always say his eyes are painted on. ha ha. I doubt he would have seen me. I would have to wave and stand in front of the car for him to spot me walking.
@susiemc not really Sue & my foot is sore on the sole today, also Harry is disputing my distance reckoning so when I go out today I shall measure it by car....watch this space! I think B&B keeps you fit ha ha! Funnily enough re B&B I have had an email from Four in a Bed programme for the third time esterday....I shall reply as before ..over my dead body!!!
@happypat I always replied in exactly the same way ππ. Youβre right, B & B does keep you fit, all that cleaning and running up and down stairs. Still donβt miss it though π
Five miles is huge! No footpaths either but I guess you can hear a car coming and move right to the edge if necessary! I take my phone with me and call John if I need a ride!
@maggiemae I have to confess it wasn't five only three & a half, I checked it in the car today, Harry said it was only two & a half but it was more than he thought, less than I thought....it felt a long way with my sore foot. Not many cars on this road & I could hear them coming.
