You can see how quiet Blackpool is in mid winter. Not many hardy souls braving the cold yesterday. At the weekend there are lots of people walking & cycling even in this weather but not on a weekday.
Three good things:
1. The local shop, open all hours! I thought I had another pack of bacon but must have used it all. Never stuck when you have our local supermarket.
2. Primroses out in the garden centre.
3. Planning...I have my next two days planned out as I'm juggling with four B&B's, a doctors appointment, lunch out with friends & that's only tomorrow! Next day school reunion & a meal out with friends Saturday night!
So different to summer... but last time we were there it looked quite ghastly - the tower is a great sight any day. (Sadly when we went it was so cold the kids said 'we never want to go there again ever, ever' Now that Cathy is nearby (at uni) I wonder if she will revisit and discover its charm...!)
A desolate feel about this summer activity! Its good to plan a day when it may be busy - as long as you don't do the planning in the middle of the night! .....and @dide you must be as old as I am!
@dide Yes I can! We managed fine but wouldn't these days! Progress isn't all bad although I still don't agree with Sunday opening! I do shop now & then on a Sunday, it's not religious I just like the break in the week which should be for families doing other stuff! @maggiemae Dianne isn't as old as us Maggie...is anyone on here! Ha ha! You're right the best planning is done at night but we should be asleep!
@filsie65 they are been spring cleaning the Tiwer ballroom at the moment, a massive task. It was on the news today. They had some of the regulars dancing at first thing this morning, I bet it was cold then!
