Repairs & renewels

When I used to do the books when we were farming there was a column that was called repairs & renewals, I used to pop anything a bit random in there!

Harry repairing the gate hook that holds the gate open.
I could smell creosote so he must have used a post.
You can see Harry if you look closely.

Lily has been to the vet this morning & returned! I truly thought it was a one way ticket but although definitely blind she was seeing better this morning. The vet would not give any medication unless she has tests which would have cost £80 plus. As she is almost nineteen we felt it wiser to leave things to nature so brought her home. If she starts to look unhappy it will be an easy decision.
Tonight she actually managed the big jump only the reverse way so those of you who know that she jumps across from the table to the sideboard will be surprised. The only worrying thing is she isn't eating much. Harry has gone out now to buy her some Gourmet food.

Three good things:
1. Lily is using another life!
2. My poor sister broke her wrist yesterday but it's not the one she uses most.
3. Our TV lost its sound for some reason last night but when I switched it on this morning it was mended!
Lovely green space! There is always something to do in large garden space isn't there.
Sorry to hear about Lily but you have a very positive attitude and she has been an amazing pussycat - you could write a book!! Would make a lovely children's one - I'm sure your grandchildren would assist and enjoy!

Lovely lush looking green space, I am glad Lily is home :) my sister and brother in laws cat (very expensive Maine Coon) went blind and she was quite happy for many years, fingers crossed. Bad news for your sister though, there appears to have been a lot of broken wrists around here :(

Poor Lily ! but look on the bright side of things ,once she gains confidence and uses other senses to get around and hearing usual sounds and voices I am sure she will feel happier . Sorry to her of your sister's misfortune I hope it will heal without many problems . At least one good news Pat -- the TV has mended itself !!!!

Sorry about Lily and of course, about your sister. On a flippant note it's always good to have a slot to place anything a bit random!

@sarah19 yes I could write a book, all the stories about Lily would be rather nice! Harry is cross with himself, he put the post on the wrong side so has to re do tomorrow!

@huvesaker tv playing up,again tonight so it's not right yet. I wish I was better at solving some things but I'm better than Harry who is absolutely useless!

@countrylassie She had the wrong footwear on & slipped at the back door on the ice, down she went. Has to go back to hospital in the morning to see if it needs manipulation! Yes I have heard cats can live a very content life with blindness. Lily is coping well today & I think it's not as bad as yesterday.

Oh poor Lily, lets hope her life # 10 is a happy one.. And your poor Sister , even though its not the one she uses all the time it will be inconvenient ... I think our column in repairs and maintainence ... frequently used...

@beryl you're right Beryl, she doesn't venture far although strangely she wanted to go outside twice today & was wandering off, had to bring her back inside. She's eaten a bit tonight & looks much happier. We will see how it goes!

@quietpurplehaze You're right Hazel, if in doubt shove it in R&R as it was titled! I'm so glad I'm not doing that anymore!

@ceilidh Thank you Margaret, it is looking good now the wood has got more established, no,grass growing yet though.

You do have a bit to contend with - the cat worry and sister's injury, not to mention fixing things ! We had an account called "repairs and maintenance' and heaps of things went into that account!

A lovely view and good to get some jobs done. Did you get much snow?

@maggiemae He he a very handy title! It gave the heebie jeebies when I wrote that title! Reminded me of the horrid duties of running a business! It has been a funny old couple of days, we were very unsettked last night watching Lily bumping into things!

For a cat to live 19 years is just wonderful, I know she’s had a wonderful life with you and Harry. My goodness, so sorry about your sister. As far as the property repairs, they are never ending. This is a lovely scene, Pat, your grass is so green!

I love the smell of creosote. Good to hear Lily is still with you, but sorry about your sister. I fractured my wrist a while ago and luckily it didn't impair me too much.
