Our very popular postman Tony has been taking selfies with the villagers on his round. Posting them on a Good Old Days in Great Eccleston page. A couple of people complained yesterday, said they were sick of seeing his face!
Great uproar in the village as most people didn't mind & actually loved seeing all the different faces.
He has now uploaded all his selfies onto his own
page #TonytheTash so all happy again.
He is an excellent postman never taking stuff back to the depot if you're out, he tries his best to leave it with neighbour etc. Old ladies give him cakes & biscuits & he always has any news goings,
We are lucky to have him! By the way he has a twin brother who works at Lancaster railway station, you should see the selfies he gets....famous people!
Three good things:
1. Out to our favourite garden centre for lunch.
2. The rain has washed all the newly swept paths & seating area. Looking tidy.
3. The return of Gardeners World last night & Monty Don's garden looked as untidy as ours!
Ha! Good for him, he sounds great. Our postie takes things back to the depot all the time, never even tries to find an alternative. He's very miserable too, never seen him smile.Tony looks so cheery,
Lovley portrait Pat. Local posties are indispensable. We have a young lady who is marvellous. Kind helpful and knows all the neighbours so will leave parcels if necessary.
He sounds like a bit of a character... good for him.. we got a great postie as well.. a few years back we were flyi g to Queenstown and this guy at the airport said 'Giday' to us .... didn't recognize him without his van..
Sounds like he and his brother are vying for the best or most famous selfie! He obviously has a sense of humour and that's so good when he meets so many people!
@jesperani That is so annoying Jennifer. My cinema friend is at the other end of the village & doesn't have Tony, her postman won't even leave a parcel through her back gate & into the shed there, he takes it away again.
@sarah19 He is very friendly but talks a lot, just comes straight into our kitchen, not always convenient specially if I'm watching Escape to The Country!!
@maggiemae Plus him & brother Ian go all over by train on trips!they are really into trains! Some famous people get off at Lancaster & Ian seems to meet them all.
@dide b. Yes everyone is pretty happy with Tony I think but tepee mail only arrives around four o'clock many a day! We are last on the run though. We have a NZ post box & he knows if we leave the arm up there is a letter to pick up. @julzmaioro
He is quite a character. Our postie rides by on a motorbike so we don't usually see him, but our parcel postie always knocks on the door and leaves parcels. He is very chatty and friendly.
