We are lucky enough to have quite a few lovely parks in Preston.
This is Winckley Square a park that is in the centre of the city just off the main high street Fishergate.
I know this park extremely well as I crossed it twice a day throughout my school days. My school took its name from the square.
Established in 1801 it was divided into private gardens for the rather grand houses the gentry of Preston lived in. These houses now are mainly offices for solicitors, accountants & other business premises. Indeed my father & grandfather had their offices there.
The whole garden has been revamped with new paths, seats & generally tidied up. I must come again when the tress are out.
A much larger general photo tomorrow of the garden, I just liked these two girls & their lovely blonde hair.
Three good things:
1. Three weeks ago I bought a navy sweater from H&M but when I got it out I realised I had picked a large instead of a medium. Took it back today & after a long time looking through all the racks I found a medium!
2. Lovely food shopping in M&S.
3. I have sourced a tombola barrel complete with corks.
@lyndamcg Well I never Lynda, small world! I expect this Square has changed a little since you worked there too or perhaps not? I think this regeneration has been done a good few years but not sure how many.
