My lovely friend Dot came for a while this afternoon.
It's her grandson who is so ill. This is Harry the youngest boy. Dot has always been a great support to her daughter & family & luckily has been very used to looking after the boys. The eldest one Jack is at school & Harry is a very easy baby thankfully.
She looked tired today but is coping admirably trying to take one day at a time but things are not hopeful.
Still waiting for one or two more tests, lumbar puncture next Tuesday & then hopefully onto Germany for Charlie's treatment.
Unfortunately they have not been able to remove as much of the tumour as they had hoped.
I am full of admiration for them all.
Three good things:
1. Rota systems.
2. Charity auctions.
3. Donations.
That makes my heart ache. Praying they find answers and are more successful. I'm betting you are a great support system for your friend and her family.
So lovely that she came to visit you today Pat, with this cute little guy.. he will be keeping Dot very busy and normal in what is a very tough time.. love to them all
..
Thank you all. Dot & all the family are just about getting by, prognosis only 30% success so it's very hard for them, they are getting lots of support but it's so hard. Not sure yet what's happening regards treatment, will know more after Tuesdays lumbar puncture. X
Sweet wee boy on the lovely blanket on the lawn! I'm sure you are being a great friend to Dot and helping her so much. As you say, it doesn't look good!
How very sad! It is sad when you hear of grown-ups being sick but a child, just in the prime is too much. I wish him all the best and may God stand by his parents in this dark moment.
