I peered through the windows of the old glass house in the grounds of Muckross House, took a photo & rather liked the way it turned out.
Had to put the heating on tonight, a complete change in the weather. A very busy weekend with Tractor Pulling competitions at the Great Eccleston show ground.
Three good things:
1. I wore my new raincoat today!
2. Someone e gave me a mango....what do I do with a mango?
3. Plenty of library books to read!
must of had clean windows.. Mangoes are lovely .. you have to cut the Cheeks off as there is a very hard woody part in the middle .. stand it up on the pointy end and then run a good sharp knife down just out from the stick.. if it is hard go out a little further then do the same to the other side.. and then slice it off the skin.. nice in a fruit salad, or my favourite adding to a chicken curry just before the end of cooking .. Needs to be yellow/redblush if you are going to add it to a fruit salad.. can be green for the curry .. enjoy
A gorgeous old greenhouse - all that space to do your potting and growing ! Love those old blinds - adds to the character of the place . Julia has given you all the answer re your mango - love its lovely juicy sweet flesh if it is ripe .
It looks very tempting to go inside. I love mangoes - we do as Julia said but leave the skin on and then cut across the flesh to make little squares of flesh, leaving the skin intact. Then 'pop' up the little squares into a sort of hedgehog shape and enjoy with a spoon.
I wish my glass house looks like this - love the flooring! I see @julzmaioro has told you what to do with mango - I'd tell you what to do with it too and its not that! Fire it into the property of someone who annoys you!
@julzmaioro@beryl@busylady@gijsje@sarah19 Thanks for all your great advice re the mango! This one looks a bit green still so I might wait a day or two & then have a go!
This is the way I prepare my mango: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uIObYQ-0KQ

Love the smell of a greenhouse & this was an old one up against a wall which is always the nicest. The windows were clean!
This is a super image, the colours and drape of the blinds and the classic peeling whitewashed brick wall are just so appealing together.
David loves mangoes, he is expert at cutting them, but they are so messy to eat. Probably best eaten in the bath, ha ha.
