It was very slippy this morning everywhere so they were out putting sand on the pavements. Funny really as there were no pedestrians on this side of the road, they were all on the other side where the market stalls were.
Thursday is marker day in Garstang.
I went into Dreams to buy a Kipling bag for a friends birthday in the sale. Four of us have clubbed together for her special birthday!
Three good things:
1. Staying much lighter longer now, I think the old wives saying ‘as the days lengthen, the cold strengthens’ is very true! It’s very cold!
2. A really good booking for 7 nights next week.
3. I found my old dealer boots which have really good grips on the soles, safe walking!
A very cold morning Pat when I opened the curtains I thought it had snowed !!! He is very liberal with his sand/salt ,but not very good at spreading it !! Has he fallen out with his barrow !! I am a fan of the kipling bags I have a couple - light yet hold a lot !
@beryl he came back to his barrow took a shoveful & just dashed it sideways onto the path, I walked on it after & there were lots of icy patches still. The bags are brilliant aren’t they....the zips are so strong!
@jgpittenger@gijsje I think he needs instructing how to do it!! He completely missed where I was wIting at the cash point...thought he would go back but next time I went past it was just the same!
He doesn't seem to be spreading it very well ... Hardy market people to be out in the cold... Great to have a 7 night booking .. not having to wash every day in the winter would be a good thing.
With sand on the pavements, you would get it stuck to your shoes and trek it in to any shop you entered. Better than falling and breaking your hip, though!
@carolmw@louannwarren@busylady@Dawn I’ve never seen them spreading sand before....poor job but at least they attempted! The other side of the street was much more sheltered.
@countrylassie Yes I was amazed, ever seen them do that before, take care driving on those small roads! Would love to pop up to the Lake District while it’s so picturesque but the roads do put me off, I’m scared of skids!
