Lovely cow parsley in the hedgerows down our lane.
I walked down the road to a neighbours house this afternoon, she wanted to borrow my Michelle Obama book & I just loved all this froth along the way.
Three good things:
1. I lent a book & borrowed one...The Fabulous Bouvier Sisters!
2. Lilacs.
3. A new flag to replace our tattered & wind torn one.
A beautiful sight - love it when the hedgerows are full of Spring's new growth and flowers ! A nasty day here - you had to dodge the heavy shower ! It poured as I came home from shopping , had to run ( well go as fast as I could !! ) from the car to the house - and back out to rescue the shopping from the car 15- 20 mins later ! Shame the weather forecast is not too promising for the bank-holiday ! You mentioned Lilacs - so beautiful just now !
@beryl I called in at Cathy’s & she has a lovely lilac tree so I pinched a couple of sprays to put in a vase fir the kitchen table....just past their best really but they look nice. It’s hard work shopping...so many times we have to shift the shopping from shelf to trolley from trolly to car from car to house from house cupboards! Phew!
See what I have learnt: "parsley, wild chervil, wild beaked parsley, or keck is a herbaceous biennial or short-lived perennial plant in the family Apiaceae, genus Anthriscus. It is also sometimes called mother-die, a name that is also applied to the common hawthorn."
Thank you fellow country lovers, the best time to see the British countryside I think, all fresh & new with a nice amount of rain to keep things sparkling!
I must read more of my Michelle Obama book!!
