Market day in Garstang.
This is a former pie shop now a trendy barbers, I took a quick shot as I walked past!
Quite dark in there from the outside sunlight but I’ve edited it a bit.
We are lucky with the sunshine today but not that far away there are terrible floods in Swaledale & the Peak District.
A dam is holding a reservoir in is very unstable & the wall has started to give way, the whole town has been evacuated.
Houses & farms flooded & bridges down, you couldn’t believe it’s the middle of summer!
Three good things:
1. Community spirit pulling together.
2. A full fridge!
3. Street singers,
Good to have shop taken up so quickly! Hairdressers seem to be doing good business nowadays! Probably because now men go to them! How awful about the floods and the dam - it must be on the news!
Read your title and wondered if it was you or Harry in the chair !! ha ha ! Looks very trendy ! So distressing to see the news re the dam on the verge of giving way - how terrible for all concerned - it makes us realise how lucky we are .
Great capture. So sorry to hear about the flooding, I have not seen any world news today. Will have to look it up. Hope the dam holds and everyone is okay.
Love the look inside the Man Cave Barbers. Reasonable prices and open seven days a week...very committed service. A marvelous candid shot.
Good thoughts to the people of Swaledale and the Peak District. Flooding is so destructive and disruptive.
I love the name of this barber! Great fun.
Yes, watching the progress with the Derbyshire dam - so much heavy rain so fast, who would have thought it would have this result? Unprecendented is a much over used word these days, but it fits there. And the roads washed away in Swaledale, one of our favourite corners of the world. One thing's for sure, I am glad my boys are not walking the Coast to Coast this Summer as they would usually be up there now! Here's hoping these things resolve quickly for the sake of those many disadvantaged folk.
Ooooh so sorry to here this - hope you stay safe. I've heard that there is some flooding in the UK but the crumbling of the reservoir wall seems very dangerous. I like your candid shot.

Glad you are not affected by floods etc. We travelled that way on some of our walking holidays.
