Our nephew brought eight of these small black Scottish sheep to eat the grass off our field.
They are rather shy so I had to creep up behind them very slowly this morning before they ran off.
Not a very clear photo of them but I liked the view of all the maize fields...won’t be long before they are chopping it has all tasseled nicely.
Three good things:
1. I saw a car using the new electric charging units in Garstang for the first time today, they have been there a good few weeks so it was good to see them being used at last.
2. I went to the library & thinking I will be out of action for a bit I asked how many books I was allowed to borrow, was surprised when she said twenty! I took seven home with me.
3. A lollipop lady at the local primary school in Garstang has just been on the news for doing her job for forty years! She has no plans for retirement!
@huvesaker Yes ..perfect....access to the kids but no pressure! They love her smiling face! No on second thoughts you would be completely wasted doing that!
They are very black.. usually black sheep are more brown.. do they have horns?..
Very rarely see a car at our local electric port..
Good on the lollipop lady..
Great sheep! I love anything Hebridean!!!! We could do with some for our grass at the moment...... I wonder if there are any in this area!
Laughed out loud at the 40 books!!! I have just found two that I got for Christmas and had put in a basket in the lounge! Maybe I'll start one soon!
And how that lady must love her job.....all weathers of course!
@julzmaioro Yes two horns & funny tails! I wouldn’t think there would be that many electric cars yet in your neck of the woods. 4 wheel drives & all that. Not that many here yet but it’s a growing market. @sarah19 Thought they would be up your street Sallie!
A lovely landscape , brought to life by these wonderful black sheep ! Love the gold of the maize fields ! Seven books should keep you happy for a while Pat I hope they will be to your taste !
Oh my. I’ve never seen a black sheep. I can sing the song though! May I ask what the lollipop lady does? Perhaps the obvious, pass out lollipops to the students? 😊
I think I've seen these type of sheep before and couldn't work out whether they were goats or sheep! Good luck with the books - sometimes after an op, one can't concentrate on a book so magazines seem to be better.
Now that's an environmentally friendly way to mow a field. Those little black sheep are delightful. Good on you for preparing for your recovery period with some good books. I hope you enjoy them all as you are recuperating and taking it easy.
20 books??? How on earth would one carry that many home? When I was a child, it was 3. But then I had always finished them all within hours because I adored reading!
What sweet little shy sheep and a lovely maize field.
@louannwarren Ha ha Lou Ann lollipop ladies...I call them that as it’s the usual name but of course there are lots of men doing it too are people who help children & their parents cross the road safely outside schools. They have a sign, I suppose to describe it would be a stick with a round Stop sign hence the name lollipop. Usually retired or part time persons they are an institution here in the UK.
