We went to the prawn fishing place this afternoon but discovered it shut at 3.30pm.
For the price we had to pay for a family ticket it wasn’t worth it for just an hour.
Personally I think they are missing a trick there....a cafe on site where they cook the prawns you catch, you would think they would be open until 7pm at least!
Instead we decided to go into Taupo & try one of the Bird electric scooters dotted around the town. They are on trial until March but we didn’t have any luck with them at all.
An app on the phone, the bike wouldn’t work & all the time it was taking money off Ants account despite never ever getting going!
A bad review is in order!

Well something wasn't user friendly ! Maybe just as well - too many accidents! I guess all the prawns are exported and that is the market. The visitors haven't made an impact yet! @maggiemae That’s the place maggie. We have been before & enjoyed it but I notice they shut at 3pm during the week...even earlier than I thought & 4pm weekends! It’s been there for years so must be doing ok but such short hours!!
The boy’s personalities shine in this photo. Ah, Finn! Your story reminded me of being in Nevada years ago and taking Jerry’s step mother to lunch. She knew of a restaurant in the mountains two hours away and wanted us to take her there. It was closed when we arrived, only open two days a week. We always laugh about the mountain restaurant. Hopefully you will laugh about the missed prawns and scooters one day. 😊
