We have had two promising viewers this morning.
Complete opposites! One quite an elderly couple who liked big houses. All his family were round here & they didn’t need to sell their own first.
The other couple were whizz kids in their thirties who sold fish from Fleetwood & had a restaurant near Manchester. They also didn’t need to sell.
Strange how the viewers differ but we have learnt not to judge anyone how they look.
You will be as fed up of our selling saga as we are...it’s good only you 365ers read it all!!
An angle of my kitchen from the other end.
Three good things:
1. After quite a busy day I sat in the kitchen & did nothing for ten minutes. I never sit & do absolutely nothing...Harry does all the time thinking but not me. Always reading my book or the paper or on my iPad....it was nice just to sit...I must do it more often!
2. I fitted in a walk after lunch.
3. It’s looked like rain several times today but never actually done it!
That's a lovely view of the kitchen and so summery with the door open and light streaming in the window.
The different viewers are quite fascinating!!! Good if they don't have to sell first!
Same here Pat, looked like rain a few times but no rain. Love your kitchen, looks very smart but welcoming at the same time. Hope you sell soon. Wish we could buy it!
Thank you. The whizz kids asked what price we would take...we have got crafty & refereed him to the estate agents! We would like a bit of completion between them all ha ha. All might come to nothing but we are hopeful this time.
This is a lovely capture of your lovely kitchen. It’s always nice to know what we are living through. That’s one of the good things about 365, I think. We got over 2” of rain last night. It was quite a storm. So much wind, I had to sweep all the porches and the patio, so many leaves and little branches!
It never ceases to amaze me how contrary potential house buyers can be. We had some odd, very odd viewers when we were leaving the UK to live definitively in France. The Estate Agent suggested that we might like to think about renting it in the Corporate market as Swindon had/has many European companies in the UK looking for 2-5 year letting contracts. We hadn't considered that...and it was a very attractive proposition as we already had Vignouse for some years in preparation for retirement. The agents were very bullish about it. However on 9/11, the day the terrorists flew into the Twin Tours in New York...the bottom fell out of the property market, Big Time. The house did sell relatively easily given the backdrop. We were very fortunate.
@s4sayer Wow that was so unfortunate Margo. Timing is everything in the housing market. All the hitches this last eighteen months have been weird. We thought we would sell easily last year but after our sale fell through there was Brexit looming then we just got going again after Christmas then Coronavirus. After we retuned from a NZ at the end of March we thought that’s it but since the estate agents opened in the last three weeks it’s been manic. So much interest & houses that have been for sale for ages have sold. I doubt it will last though when jobs are lost & winter sets in so please let us sell before then, we’re fed up!
How lovely to see your kitchen from another pov . At firs I thought what has she done with her dresser , then realised the aga was not there either !A lovely sunny end to your room with the window and open door ! Hope you are in luck with the selling - not nice to have it lingering on ! It has been that sort of day here too sunny then rainclouds and a few specs of rain but coming to nothing .Hope you will have a good night's sleep tonight !
Viewers would love those genuine wooden floors! They look so clean! Not fed up at all - its like a continuing saga and we wait eagerly for the next instalment!
Thank you all for still taking an interest in our house selling saga.
We now have four interested parties so think we have a chance this time! My hope is for the care home owners!
They all love the house but it is quite pricey so the stamp duty alone is £22,000 so not a trifling amount! Yes Beryl this is taken from the Aga end, I am sitting in my chair & liked the sun on the floor which incidentally is Lino! I know it looks ok doesn’t it, supposed to be only a temporary Floor covering years ago it’s still there! It’s amazing & so easy to clean & doesn’t show dust or dirt at all.
It's a beautiful home, you only need one buyer in the end. Here's hoping it goes through soon! We had our eye on a house on the Isle of Wight but it sold yesterday. Not yet in a position to buy......such is the ups and downs of house moves, eh? I especially like your lovely sideboard there. Proper "Cadfael" furniture as I call it!
Your house looks beautiful both on the inside and on the outside. When trying to sell a property, many viewers come and sometimes it is frustrating until the right person comes and he/she will, if you have enough patience.
This is a beautiful kitchen. I'm sure the right person will come along soon. We were very lucky because we had two families make an offer the week it went on the market, which meant we were able to get the full asking price. It was obviously delayed by Covid, but luckily they didn't decide to pull out.
I love your kitchen Pat 😊. I do hope you manage to sell your house soon. We were so lucky when we sold our house in Wales 3 years ago. Some people arranged to come and view the first day the house went on the market and they bought it!!
