The comedy carpet & lone cyclist. by happypat

The comedy carpet & lone cyclist.

I had an appointment at Specsavers this morning.
I have been losing my hearing aids left right & centre while I have been wearing a mask.
The last ones went in the washing machine!
@sarah19 made me a lovely drawstring pouch to put them in & I have been using it but one lapse taking them out & shoving them in my pocket....
Anyway I am all kitted out with new ones now so firing on all cylinders....pouch in bag ready to put them in when mask is on!

Three good things:
1. I took the chance of walking down to the sea front to get a few photos while I was there.
2. A pretty much empty promenade & the tide was just out far enough.
3. M&S stir fry tonight!
What a great capture Pat..big fav .love it .ooh masks. Hearing aids. Earrings. .struggle when I got my glasses on and a hat ! .

Great shot. My father in law has had similar issues with his hearing aids

Love this Pat. When I first saw your post and saw 'Specsavers' I thought this must have been your eyesight test!!! What a terrific view with the added bonus of the cyclist!

What a beaut shot..masks are a pain. Had to laugh the other day when I saw a man with it pulled up over his eyes and mouth out.

Took Grandma to the hospital. Followed all covid guidelines. Took off disposable masks at exit. Grandma went 'oh no my hearing aids have gone'. Then I had to rummage through the bin of masks to find them. Thankfully they were on top. Not our best moment. Used a lot of the hand gel at the exit after that!

@busylady it was really nice getting a bit of fresh air too...a few photos in the bank at same time!

@bkbinthecity They have had lots of people ringing in saying they have lost the hearing aids....I took mine out again as soon as I got out of the shop....put them in my little bag for safety!
November 24th, 2020
@julzmaioro You do see them in the weirdest ways....men are particularly bad at wearing them I find...under the chin etc. What with hearing aids, glasses & no lip reading life can be difficult!

Great photo ....looks like a great day for a walk.
Glad your little bag is useful....but I can understand how such little things can get lost.
Enjoy anyway! 😊

Getting older can be complicated Pat!! Love your picture of the lone cyclist. Something very lockdown about it.

Bep
Great shot! Glad I don't need hearing aids...

Great capture.Fav😊

Great shot - I knew it would be yours !

This is a great perspective and it was interesting to read the comments. I hadn’t thought about hearing aids, but my mother in law wrapped her false teeth in a napkin and set it on her tray once, and those got tossed in the trash. The nursing home attendant said it was actually not a rare occurrence

Now when wearing your mask, you are in a world of silence or mumbling! Might not be all bad! I do like this wide view of the promenade. Everybody seems to be behaving themselves and the CV cases are going down.
November 24th, 2020
@pandorasecho I can believe that...I think that would be horrendous!!
November 24th, 2020
@beryl Ha ha yes me & Blackpool....just glad get a shit or two under my belt! First time really into proper town, it was dead!
November 24th, 2020
@sarah19 My little bag will be with me at all times Sallie!
November 24th, 2020
@newbank The hearing lady said loads of people losing them....I have three friends goi g to ring up for hearing referrals in the morning! Poor mum I can completely sympathise. Glad you found them....trouper!
November 24th, 2020
@thistle01 it was surprising how quiet it was there....you could count the figures!
November 24th, 2020
@gijsje Count your blessings Bep...they have been the bane of my life this last nine months!
November 24th, 2020
@maggiemae They say the numbers are going down but still think we will be in Tier 3 on Thursday. They say until March....all the hospitality places will be on tenterhooks until it’s announced what Tier we are on in our area.

@pdulis @carolmw

Thank you both...

What a beautiful place
November 24th, 2020
I love this shot, how considerate of the cyclist to come along at just the right time.

Must be expensive losing your hearing aids all the time. You will have to have strings attached to them like we used to with mittens when the kids were little.
November 24th, 2020
@onewing The good old National Health Service Babs...free including all batteries!
November 24th, 2020
@happypat Thanks Sarah.

Lovely view!

@phil_howcroft @jgpittenger @kwind @lynnz @jamibann @loweygrace

So glad you like this one..must admit I was pretty pleased with it myself! 😃 I could see the cyclist coming in from the left out of the corner of my eye so waited...
November 25th, 2020
Amazing pavings. It's like reading the daily paper. The cyclist looks like he is used to passing through here and doesn't seem interested at all. Fav.
November 25th, 2020
Beautiful shot

@sangwann All this writing are jokes Dione...silly music hall jokes made by the old comedians...Morecambe & Wise, Tommy Cooper, Ken Dodd etc...you might not have heard so them but all famous in the UK. It’s quite fascinating to read...this is only a small part of it. Very popular with the holiday makers in better times!
November 25th, 2020
@momamo Thank you Monique.
November 25th, 2020
Very cool place to make a photograph!
November 25th, 2020
This is a fantastic image - so simple yet so very effective. What a hassle masks are.
November 25th, 2020
Really interesting shot. I've tried a few but my favourite masks are still the first ones I bought https://edelinelee.com/products/pack-of-three-masks-spunbond. They're really light and the other thing is the two cords go over your head - one sits around your neck and the other higher up your head. Not to everyone's tastes but I find I prefer them to fannying about with the ones that go over your ears - don't have hearing aids, but they do mess with my earrings and glasses.

Sadly...can’t give this all the plaudits it deserves. Wonderfully British, zany...and so much work and effort by many to capture the longstanding pleasure for visitors from near and/or far etc.to enjoy.
Gi-normous FAV!
November 25th, 2020
@thewatersphotos Just a quick walk down to the sea front so I was just lucky...thank you!
November 25th, 2020
@dide Aren’t they just Dianne!
November 25th, 2020
@boxplayer I’ve seen those masks but never actually tried one....if you can just pull them over your head I might try one!
November 25th, 2020
@s4sayer Thank you Margo...it is a wonderful as you say zany place! Not everyone’s cup of tea but essentially British sea side fun!
