This photo popped up on my memory page this morning.
This is the farmhouse where I lived for the first thirty six years of my married life, Harry lived here from the age of three.
We farmed here as a rented farm until 1987 when the whole farming estate owned by one family was offered for sale to all the tenants. It was a shock but one that almost everyone took advantage of to buy their farm as a sitting tenant.
Of course there is lots more to the story but not room enough here to go into it all. @sarah19 will remember this place!
Three good things:
1. I called on my friend Dot...she is OK & they are trying to be positive & looking to the future after Charlie’s death.
2. A delicious meal from M&S....all I did was stick it in the oven for half an hour & add potatoes & veg. Easy living!
3. A haircut tomorrow! Yippee!
What an absolutely beautiful home, Pat. You must miss it ... but onwards and upwards to your new life in your new place. I've a haircut this week too - Thursday! Woo hoo!
A wonderful photo. Love the classic, solid architecture.
Enjoy your salon time today! I have an appointment on Wednesday. I will never take the hair salon for granted again.
It looks very fine but I bet you’re enjoying the chance to really do your own thing with the new one. Bless Dot - the long term worry and stress added to a sad outcome must take a long time to get over but perhaps (I hope) it also means you develop fortitude.
