Wednesday is Connie day so I took her up Beacon Fell this morning. A few more cars than last time but I didn’t seem to meet any more folk than normal. Connie just loves it up there but always wears her yellow jacket...I have to watch her every minute but she does come back well especially if I meet anyone & call her in, she comes & stands beside me pretty well.
Three good things:
1. Connie & I called at the other grandmas as we drove past....a cup of tea & a chat.
2. I was walking up to the bungalow late afternoon & our old farming neighbour stopped in the car for a chat....we go out a bit socially when in the farming community. Good to see her!
3. I’m reading American Dirt....just getting into it but it seems good, lots of good reviews! Hope it’s not too frightening...I can’t cope with such stuff these days! A shooting start so I was apprehensive. Anyone else read it?
What a lovely place for jou and Connue to walk.. she must be good compant for you.. she will have yo get a summer weight hiviz soon.. Must be great to finally have a bit more freedom to catch up with folk now..🐕
That is good that she comes back when called. I was listening to an article on the radio the other day about the amount of dogs that get stolen these days, and garden hot tubs too. Good shot.
@gamelee That’s the big thing I’m scared of Lee....it’s a responsibility. That’s why she has the florescent jacket on so I can see her at all times! It’s pretty quiet up there but it’s a worry.
I daresay you don't take your eyes of her. A Cavalier spaniel was stolen here the other day. She was pregnant with 4 puppies. There was such a hooha on the News and Social Media that she was returned without anyone seeing the thieves. But minus the four puppies. She must be so confused and sad.
@maggiemae That is a horrendous story maggie, poor little girl....such ruthless thieves. Lots of dog stealing here too, it’s rife. Mind you I can’t help thinking when people go back to work that lots if dogs will be abandoned because there is no non to look after them. Silly lockdown decisions!
Connie knows a good walking location when she sees one.
I haven't read American Dirt yet, but it's on my list. It's been on the receiving end of a lot of controversy for it's portrayal of Mexico and racial stereotyping, but not having read it I can't speak to that.
