Met up with my cinema friend Dot this lunchtime. It’s a very long time since we last sat on the back row with our ‘butties’
The local pub & restaurant went into receivership during the lockdown but happily five of the pubs in the group of ten have been bought by another company & ours is one of them.
I asked if a voucher for £20 would be valid & yes to the end of the month!
Three good things:
1. Grapefruit G&T...a wonderful summer drink.
2. All the windows in, Dot & I walked up to the house to look after our lunch.
3. I ordered a new shaving foil for Harry’s shaver, they sent two & they fit! I checked, I only ordered one!
Ah, a meal out is a treat indeed! Our county is more than 70 percent fully vaccinated so the mask restrictions are lifted. I almost feel naked without it.
@bkp There is talk of us coming out of restrictions on the 21st June Barbara but I can’t see everybody me included of going without a mask inside! It’s likely to be delayed as we have a bit of a surge in some areas. Not affecting hospital admissions because I think most of us older ones are vaccinated.
@bkp I don't think i've ever worn a face mask - haven't had to here! Its a bit like safety belts in the car - at first restricting, years later feel unsafe without it!
Great that the Pubs been saved.. so many businesses suffered during lockdown but must of been so much worse in the Uk when lockdowns were so much longer..

Wish you would get on with it then you could open up & we could visit again. Your tourist trade must be suffering. We are down to the under thirties now…. One thing we’ve done well in is the vaccine programme.
Wow, well done you! I am going up to the RHS gardens today to meet someone but asked her if we can take a sandwich and buy cake and coffee from an external hatch. I am not ready to go inside yet, not vaccinated long enough ago yet and always aware of my darling Dad's leukaemia. Makes me more cautious. Food looks lovely though, nice for you to have a touch of normality.
@casablanca Sensible choice Casa as the weather is lovely so good to eat out. We could have eaten out but I find the food goes cold so quickly & as we had both been double vaccines on exactly the same day weeks ago we were happy to eat indoors!
That is one nice meal for lunch. Glad you could go out for lunch with a friend. These last two weekends Christine and I have been out for an evening snack together at an open air diner. It was nice to sit down and enjoy the Summer atmosphere.
You made me think that perhaps that's not altogether a bad thing...
And more progress with the house is great. 😊
