The first time I have hung any washing out since last September! I couldn’t wait to get out there this morning & start hanging it out.
All nicely planned with no harsh colours & all the underwear, socks etc in proper groups! I know I’m sad but I was so sick of hanging clothes on airers!
Three good things:
1. The above of course!
2. The build is coming on in leaps & bounds!
New front door, rendering on the outside, insulation & boarding in a bedroom & the electrician was there!
3. The final of The Great British Sewing Bee.
Brought back memories of washing on the line in the UK with the line and clothes prop. Haven't seen that since we left the UK. We have a Hill's hoist here (rotary line)
I think you and Jane have both been to the same "washing line hanging school" ... I find it difficult to keep up standards when I hang the washing out !!
I like what @phil_howcroft Phil says - I don't think I was taught washing line ethics but I do remember a fussy sister in law who took down all my efforts and repegged them!
I loved your comments about the nicely planned laundry line! :-)
When I was young and newly married I used to match the peg colour with the item colour!!! Crazy - I don't do that any longer!!
@phil_howcroft Yes indeed we want no bad hanging up behaviour! Harry is a terrible washing hanger up, he just gets hold of the edges & leaves them in the same crumpled up shape the come out if the machine!
@dkbarnett Oh gracious Delwyth, I never went as far as that….that’s serious washing hanging stuff! You would be a proud new housewife…I still like my washing looking ordered & have been known to go back & move an item that colour clashed!
The smell of outdoor washing can’t be beaten unless it’s spreading slurry day if course which we get here quite often at certain times of the year! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@maggiemae You either have the gene that orders washing or not I think maggie….it can be quite obsessive! How annoying though of your sister in law….that is going too far! 😳
Good grief that washing must have piled up in that time Pat, and the smell from all dirty washing, did you go out and buy new underwear each week. I know I'm stupid, wink.
@ladymagpie Ha ha well twenty of the pairs of underpants were Jacks…all new so we washed them first! I know before you say anything twenty is a lot!!! 🤣🤣🤣
