This pub/restaurant was owned by a family with a chain of twelve pubs all of a similar type.
At the beginning of the pandemic the firm went bust & they were all empty for a good eighteen months.
Thankfully someone bought this one, did it up again & it’s back providing lovely meals.
The only sad bit is they are really struggling for staff which seems to be a common problem.
@sarah19 & husband Allan & I had our lunch here during the summer. Sadly Harry wasn’t well enough after his hip operation & covid.
Three good things:
1. Shopping for a few Christmas supplies.
2. I sold the bike online then unsold it! The guy buying it was incredibly rude & I didn’t want my poor bike going to him….he has asked why but I haven’t answered him..my prerogative!
3. Reading my Ella Risbridger cookery book…..I’m going to cook Midnight Chicken on Saturday for friends coming round!
@julzmaioro I was letting him have it cheap too….he might have been appreciative! Not a please or thank you & just said ‘ will come tomorrow, send address!
Good to hear that the pub has reopened. We have a village near here which lost it's pub. It was eventually taken over by a village co-operative and is now running very sucessfully and has good food
Nice to have your local reopening ! Ha had a smile re your bike transaction - I do not blame you - there is never need for rudeness ! As for your Midnight Chicken - very intriguing !!!!!!!!!
So wonderful this lovely place is open again. Every single business in our area is advertising for help, so yes it is a very common, world wide problem.
