Camelia by happypat

Camelia

Our massive inherited Camelia!
One of two in our garden, the other one is red but not flowering much yet!
This one needs pruning at the bottom after it’s finished flowering.

Three good things:
1. Lydia came down from Newcastle for a couple of nights…she took advantage of a lift with a friend. Was lovely to see her.
2. We got the garden chairs out of the shed.
3. Lydia went up in the loft to get the outside cushions & brought down two spare blankets ready for a collection for Ukraine on Monday.

Meant to comment on all your lovely messages about Connie last night but I got distracted on the phone.
Connie says thank you for all your kind good wishes. She has been today & is running round quite easily but no long walks for a few days.
Lovely and cheering.

Lovely Camilia.. I remember hearing on time that Camilia's should be pruned so that birds can fly through.. so you got a lot of pruning to do . Think I would trim the bottom and sides..

@julzmaioro Well I never heard that Julz…needs a good chopping then! Harry did the other one at completely the wrong time of the year so I banned him from anywhere near this until later….think it will be a good idea to check up pruning!

All flowers seem to appreciate pruning. John goes haywire with the hedge trimmer on our rhododendrons and they produce even more flowers!

@maggiemae I think a good thinning does plants good, this one is very overgrown.

@beryl Well he’s not a gardener so it won’t be scientific Beryl but I think he will be thorough! 🤣
