Coat hangers by happypat

Coat hangers

We have had Dene the joiner today.
He has built the airing cupboard & also put up shelves in the utility room.
Funny angles to get decent photos plus the airing cupboard needs painting so I have posted the shelf he put up in the spare room.
No room for a wardrobe so I thought this will suffice for short stays.

Three good things:
1. The house is finished…nothing more to do thank goodness!
2. The physio was pleased with my progress but I’m walking too much….I have to work it that I get there & back from my walk before the hip starts aching.
3. I took some blankets to the Community centre where they are collecting for Ukraine.
Well that’s pretty! What’s happened with your hip? Diagnosis? I had mine MRI’d and I’ve got early arthritis and impingement because of the way it’s sitting in the socket but I’ve been doing lots of exercises to build the muscles up and I can cross my legs again now so I think it must have pulled it into a better position.

@judithg Hi Judith good to see your name pop up!
I have an inflamed tendon in my hip, the one that joins the muscle to the hip joint. Thought I was going to need a new hip but thankfully just certain exercises will help. I haven’t to cross my legs but if course I forget. I have to have 1kg weights on my legs & do certain movements. It’s bit better, I can walk further but got ticked off for walking too far. Hope yours keeps improving.

I love hooks! We have them everywhere at Ruxton where there's no closets. They do a wonderful job!!

I was zooming in on your books :)

@newbank Just picked a few easy to read short stories out, don’t want to overload the shelf for when it has clothes on there too.

@kwind My daughters idea, she said as long as you have nice hangers mum it will be fine! Good to know they work for you Kim.

When we have been guests and as well in hotels etc, we hardly use the wardrobe - just use the suitcase. So this is fine for your guests. I also find that no guests pick up books or magazines when they stay. I suppose they are just too exhausted after we have finished with them!

@maggiemae Ha ha I can vouch that I did read in your house maggie! Very restful & welcoming. You are right about using the wardrobes too, our seem to live out of the suitcase too.

@beryl Would have liked the bedroom to have been a bit bigger but I’m used to large bedrooms so it takes a bit if getting used to. Ours is a big bedroom suitable for wheelchairs if needed.

@boxplayer I thought so too! 😄

Lovely image and a nice idea when there's no room for a wardrobe. Look after that hip!

@joansmor it’s a cupboard in a bathroom usually with a hot water cylinder in there too so it’s warm. You can put towels, bedding etc in there or anything you wish. Ours actually hasn’t got the hot water cylinder in there but I still call it an airing cupboard…it’s big so useful.

Nice and simple.

These are so pretty and of course you have books in your guest room!! I was always fascinated by your book selection in your B&B days!!
And lovely to have the house finished. You could write a book about all the episodes in your house journey! Now time to really enjoy it!
Go gently with the walking.

@sarah19 Thank you Sallie! I’m really sad I couldn’t keep all my books but eight boxes were too much. I have struggled to find the right ones for the spare bedroom but have picked short stories & lighter reads. Thank you for such lovely words….perhaps you will be able to stay again sometime, that would be lovely!

@happypat ah I’m up to 3kg - it certainly helps - I can cross my legs now though they don’t want to stay put for long. I think it’s pulled my hip back into a better position. Might get some hyaluronic acid injected but that needs a general anaesthetic so I’m sticking with physio for now.
