Eleven friends cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats for Charlie’s brain tumour charity.
They arrived in their home area this morning & had a great welcome.
After refuelling here with coffee & snacks they rode up the road past the school & churchyard where Charlie went to school & is buried,
His two brothers were very proud to see dad cycling by….the whole school turned out to cheer them on.
Top photo,…cyclists arriving.
Left hand side….a welcome from families
Right hand side ….Charlie’s teddy tucked into dads shorts.
Three good things:
1. I bought a trifle dish at the Air Ambulance charity shop for £4.
2. The jubilee trifle is made & in the fridge ready for cream.
3. A gift of a lovely bunch of tulips.
What a heart warming story and a great collage of the event. Well done on making the trifle. Presume you made your own jelly, sponge and lemon curd? 🤣🤣
Fantastic challenge for the fundraisers.....of course they would be so delighted to reach home territory.
Love that your trifle dish is perfect for the Royal celebration.
@busylady Well Judith I would love to say yes I did but sadly not!! 🤣 the local bakery made the amaretti biscuits & gorgeous Swiss roll with lemon curd, the jelly was a packet, I made the custard & coulis & will add the cream in the morning. I have to make the white chocolate shards too. I’m not convinced it will be as good as a good old raspberry trifle but we shall see! The proof is in the eating! I shall show you tomorrow!
