I intended to post this photo as a black & white & it worked quite well but once I saw it in colour that was it plus who wants sweets in black & white?
A lazy day, I haven’t even been out for a walk.
The Stroke Association person rang me, the second time too…I must say they are very helpful & kind!
Oh Pat this photo brought back memories. When I was four my Mum bought a corner shop in Lancashire. We had moved there from Yorkshire after my Dad died and Mum gave up nursing because she needed to earn a living where she could be there to look after us. I remember most of these sweets although initially even though the war was over you could only get cough sweets like Cough Candy or Uncle Joes Mintballs. As more sweets were introduced in the mid to late 50s we sold most of these sweets. Thanks for a lovely memory.
@onewing Pleased it brought back memories Babs. Not often you see all these jars & filled with old fashioned sweets. I took this in a sweet shop in Kirkby Lonsdale & we did buy some ..chocolate raisins for one but we’re very disappointed….they chocolate was cheap & we were glad we hadn’t bought more. I remember sweets in jars like this if course too but not the same memories as you.
Your mum was to be very mush admired!
I'm with you, Pat. This is perfect in color. I'm glad to know the Stroke Association is keeping tabs on you. Although I'm certain you are taking care to do all the recommended protocol. xo
