Stitches out! by happypat

Stitches out!

Sorry not a pretty sight I’m afraid folks but just a diary shot of the patients hand.

Eighteen stitches all out very quickly & Harry is so relieved to get rid of his plaster cast.

We have to go back to the hospital tomorrow to be fitted with a splint to wear at night.

I think my car could drive itself to that hospital! 🤦‍♀️

Just for interest has anyone got a Ninja Air Fryer & if so do you like it?
I’m really dithering, my sons in NZ love theirs.
I posted a picture when I had my foot done. 365 is the diary of our lives.

Lots of stitches to be removed. Harry will be pleased to get them out. No air fryer here, although I do have a pressure/slow cooker which is great now winter is on its way.

Owww a wee bit of time still needed , hope all continues to progress well for your hubby Pat .

Oh wow, that looks pretty serious! What was the problem?
I don't think I will be planting many tulips Pat as you can't buy them at this time of year. I did buy amaryllis though, and lilies.

PS, I do have an air fryer, but not the make you mentioned. It is quite small though, and just about big enough to cook fish fingers and chips for two small children

@busylady Carpel tunnel & Dupuytrens contracture Judith. We are hoping he will get the feelings back in his hand.
Thanks fir info about your air fryer…..still thinking about it but am tempted!

Oh boy, that’s gruesome. Will definitely be worth it though.

Oh dear that's not good, hope he's feeling better.

Quite a normal sight for me. Used to enjoy taking out stitches & clips! Looks like it will be quite neat.
We have an air fryer.ours a Tower & has two baskets. We are recent converts & it seem pretty good.

Oh my gosh, Pat!!! I'm going to have to backtrack and find out what happened to your sweet Harry. So glad he seems to be on the good side of healing from this trauma!!
I don't have an air fryer due to lack of room in small space living. But my daughter has one and loves it, as do several friends.

@carole_sandford @peggysirk
Thank you both for your feed back re air fryers! I’m dithering where to get smaller one with one big drawer or larger with two! I really think
In my mind the smaller one will do but I shall probably like it so much will wish I had gone bigger!
I’ve checked out the measurements as I hate a cluttered work surface & it will hide away nicely round a corner with the toaster!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts for Harry. His hand is sore tonight as he’s been messing about with mowers again! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
We have to go back tomorrow to be fitted with a splint…. I think he needs a ball & chain to tie him to the chair!!!!🤣😘😘

Made me cringe when I saw this! They have made a big cut to get at the problem. Re - air fryer. My oven does exactly the same thing with the fan on so I wouldn't want something else to find a place to put it on.

@maggiemae

They apparently cook really quickly Maggie & save so much electric plus thinking Harry could manage it better when I’m away. The hob is a little difficult as it’s finger contact….. even I have a hiss at it now & again! Looks lovely but knobs would have been easier!!

Oh my!! That's a lot of stitches!! I wish Harry a speedy recovery!
May 11th, 2023
Oh Harry….impressive

Jim uses our Ninja air fryer at least 2 - 3 nights a week. It's great for veggies, fish, turkey burgers, sweet potato fries, among other things. A friend bought one and he just made a cheese cake in it.

Hope the surgery works wonders for Harry! I was given an air fryer for Christmas and use it once a week. It’s different from most I’ve seen because it has 3 wire shelves that slide out. It’s very fast!!

Oh what a brave lad!

I thought for a terrible moment, someone had had an accident and was relieved to see it was Harry's hand and that he's had his stitches out. Let's hope it heals up well and lets him get back to normal quickly. As for the air fryer - I'm in the same quandary as you. Lots of people we know love them. I'm not at all gadgety in the kitchen, so I hesitate before buying 'new' gadgets. But maybe I should. The only real information I've retained is that 'if' you get one, my friends say get a big one and you'll be able to use it more. The small is restricting, even if you are only two in the house. My brother loves his, and John's friend loves his and he's a chef. However, it does seem to be mainly men who love them. Well, that wasn't helpful, was it?! Ha ha!

Looks like it is healing well. Glad the plaster is off and he is moving forwards.
Personally, I am not a fan of air fryers at all - they take up too much space on the counter and research says they are not really any healthier, but I know people like using them.
May 11th, 2023
Best wishes for a full recovery for Harry. Good on you as his 'carer'.
May 11th, 2023
Ouch! Looks major, but obviously healing well.
May 11th, 2023
Ouch, hope it heals quickly. I can stlll send you the mallet if he doesn't behave.
May 11th, 2023
Ouch, that is a very scary scar. Glad Harry is on the mend.
May 11th, 2023
@happypat I had 4 ops for Dupytrens contracture, two on each hand. It's not perfect but has been stable now for quite a good number of years. And I can still play the organ! Oh do hope it's successful for Harry, wishing him well.
May 11th, 2023
Oh my goodness
May 12th, 2023
Ouch
May 14th, 2023
Oh missed this.. looks pretty gruesome but hopefully it's feeling better now..
I don't have a airfryer but both D & B do and love them.. B because it's quick and D cause it dry fresh so healthier.. both have a bigger version.
