Pointe dell’Accademia

Our first sight of the canals in Venice.
We caught the vaporetta from the airport to the main part of Venice. This bridge gave us the first proper sight of the Venice we expected.
We had a bit of lunch here before continuing our walk to our apartment.
It was so lovely to see the sun but we had too many clothes on & a very early start so we’re flagging a bit by then.
I remembered the name of this bridge but unless it was one of the famous ones I can’t remember the others & there were so many bridges!

Ahhh lovely! I had one day in Venice when we were courting back in 1992 and camping at Lake Garda, attending the Verona Opera Festival. Unforgettable. I must go back one day.
