We headed straight to the Grand Col first thing in the morning to find it wasn't yet open, so had to hang around waiting. Not what we like to do, as we are 'first lift, last lift' people! But it was a great day for it!
This is my daughter and my husband - I am not made for snowboarding - although I did try it once; only once!
Is this the "helmet" of which you speak? From this vantage point I don't feel as though you're up all that high...but then, I'd just be kidding myself, wouldn't I?
@Weezilou Sorry. No! That's my daughter, Louise! But, yes, it's a helmet like this that I bought - just not yellow! Ha ha - you'd just need to ski a little forward to see how high you were - even while waiting for a lift up! I think we were at about 2000m there, waiting to go up to 2300m on the Grand Col.
@jamibann Please to continue to enjoy it for me in my absence! Ken and my girls were skiers, but I stayed back and made homemade soup and stoked the fire for their arrival back in the afternoon! (Then I just listened as they spoke ski-jargon...moguls, jumps, wet, icy...)
Wow look at the blue sky - perfect day for skiing! I used to go to Austria to ski when I was younger and fitter but never very good at it. Great fun though especially the Apre ski! Lol!
Lovely clear crisp shot and what a great blue sky. I've never had the oppertunity to learn skiing or snowboarding, I'm the eldest of six, a child of the 60s. As children we very rarely went on holiday never mind abroad. Children today have much wider horizons.
@gamelee So true Lee. I too am a child of the sixties, and we never went on holiday. My first flight was at age 21, and it was on business, not leisure! I learned to ski at Glenshee in Scotland when we lived near there. Our kids have had very different lifestyles from ours. Our daughter's first flight was at age 5 days ... from Singapore to Indonesia! I hope they know how lucky they are!
Wel I'm certainly NOT a first lift, last lift person and never have been although it's always nice to be out on the freshly groomed pistes! Nice bright colours and lovely composition.
