Bearsitting

Well I have arrived in Scotland, and have recuperated our house, after 9 months. The victims of the flooding last December have finally moved out and I am now taking back 'ownership' of our house, They've left it lovely and clean, but oh my, all our personal possessions are in the wrong place, so just going round cupboards, drawers and wardrobes trying to locate stuff and put it back where it belongs! The whole thing happened so suddenly that we weren't able to clear out our own stuff from the house and anyway what began with 4 weeks turned into 6 months, turned into 9 months - it was never planned, but we just couldn't ask them to leave. Even now, their own house is not ready, but our generosity ran out ... I'm sad to say, I just needed access again and wanted to have some time with our son before he starts on his next life adventure, a year working in London as part of his Mechanical Engineering Course. So there we have it.

Anyway, I am bear sitting. The lady who sought refuge in our house had a huge collection of bears, and as their own home is not quite ready to receive all their personal effects, she asked me if I'd look after her bears in the meantime. I mean how could you refuse? Just look at that forlorn little chap on the right!!

Lovely mix of textures and cute faces. Love the subdued tones!

What a saga this has been for you, but your generosity continues as you bear-sit! You're right -- those are priceless expressions!

Wow, those are lovely bears. What a story, it's tricky negotiating for space and balancing generosity with your own personal needs.

Lovely capture, love these bears, my daughter has some. What a very generous thing to do, it must have been so difficult for you, I couldn't see a lot of people doing it!

How nice for you! I'm sort of relating to your feeling -- imagining what it will feel like when we can move into our condo! And your image conveys a warm fuzzy feeling.

I sure couldn't turn down that little teddy. But the house I understand. You've been quite generous. Sweet shot.

That's quite a collection of bears! Wonderful shot and yes, that little chap on the right definitely looks like he needs a hug! You have certainly been generous giving up your house for 9 months. I'm sure those individuals will never forget how kind and patient you were during their desperate time of need. :-)
