...and all we had were these dumb cookies! (to paraphrase the kids' t-shirts!) I'm joking, however... I brought all the necessities for setting a beautiful Christmas table, and Ken cooked a standing rib roast on the bbq. I'd also made a side-dish casserole that my girls consider a necessary tradition. (Our Ashley was out of comission with a miserable earache, and John was putting toys together, so it was fun to have this role in Christmas Day. Oh, I did bring a large bowl of assorted home-made cookies, so we weren't without dessert, but this festive item is a beauty, and worthy of a representative Christmas photo!
@Weezilou The Christmas traditions are funny, aren't they? It's my daughter who insists on the log each year! I'd happily switch to something else for a change, but it's nice that she appreciates it. Hubby and son just insist on the standard traditional meal of turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sage and onion stuffing, roast potatoes, brussel sprouts, bread sauce, pigs in blankets, etc. etc. etc.
