Progress? A little. by jamibann

Progress? A little.

Snow and general bad weather have been holding up work in Scotland, but we're getting close to watertight. The slater was working on the remaining bit of roof yesterday, and I'm told windows should have started going in today. This is all very stressful stuff! I'm back in France now and looking forward to the 'children' coming home for Christmas. Last one in France!
Looks like quite a lot of work... hope not too held up with weather...

This takes time, doesn't it? I can imagine you're fed up with it...

An exciting project! Hope it's soon finished and to your satisfaction. Are you looking forward to living back in Scotland?

@julzmaioro It should have been finished before the weather took hold ... now we're fighting on all fronts. Very annoying!

@busylady It should all have been finished by now - it's very frustrating, and of course the weather is not helping now. Moving back to Scotland at the end of June, John is retiring! I'm not the motivator for this move, I had a good few more years abroad in me! However, it will be fine! We just need to move out of our Croissy house early January (sold) into temporary accommodation for 6 months, and then it's Scotland. A very busy pre-retirement period!!!

Doing any sort of building or renovations is so stressful. I hope that there are not too many more delays.

The weather sure would be a hindrance now in Scotland! It sounds like it will be a big change for you leaving France - but that's life! Enjoy your last Christmas in France with your children :)

Moving is difficult enough....but coupled with renovations and building.....pppffftttttt....

We tried building our own house in Canada but it all went wrong. Court case, money lost, long story. Hope yours turns out well in the end.

It is taking shape - that looks encouraging.

I'm sure you're happy to be close to watertight and having the windows going in. Hopefully spending time with your children over the Christmas holidays will help relieve some of the construction stress. :-)

@busylady Oh dear Judith, that sounds like rather a nightmare! How awful. Hopefully all will be well, eventually, for us! xx

@gaylewood Thanks Gayle. I'm really looking forward to handing over the keys to the French house, and only having the Scottish house to worry about! But you're right, a period with the kids will do me the world of good and relieve the stresses for a while.

Wow! You are really having some work done. Looking good!

That's so stressful. I feel for you. Fingers crossed there won't be too many more delays.
