This was taken at La Monnaie de Paris, on Thursday, when my friend and I went to see the exhibition 'Women House'. Some of the exhibits were a little weird, but I did like this final one - partly because of the room in which it was exhibited. For Louise Bourgeois the spider represented the protective mother - its stomach full of eggs with a protective shell.
I think my favorite thing about this photo is the people in the background. They're tired, bored, and don't care that they're part of your photo of the artwork.
You're right...this room is amazing and the spider sculpture is truly awesome. I wasn't familiar with Louise Bourgeois so I googled her...such an interesting artist. Her spider sculptures are exhibited around the world.
@randystreat Yes, the exhibition was 'interesting' and this was at the end ... I guess some people had had enough by then! But they did keep the best till last!
