The Gupta Chandelier by jamibann

The Gupta Chandelier

I was at the Fife Arms Hotel again today, in Braemar, as we had a friend visiting and I knew he'd love to see some of the art work there. This is the chandelier which hangs above the table in the private dining room. Subodh Gupta, an Indian artist, designed this chandelier in his signature style; using milk pails, sieves, spoons, ladles, etc. The effect is certainly unusual although perhaps not to everyone's taste.

Fantastic chandelier.. but going to the Pub to check out the art work sounds like a bit of an excuse? Lol

Well I would never have noticed unless you pointed that out....it’s certainly a talking point! Not to my taste though as you say but very appropriate for this luxurious hotel.

How interesting. As a whole, it looks so elegant and then looking at the details, we can see exactly how cleverly designed this is.

It looks so Indian somehow - the colours, the opulence. So interesting
