Hubby and I have been out and about harvesting the wild brambles in our area. They are so tasty. We now have a few bags full in the freezer to do us over the winter - our daughter is a fan of bramble and apple crumble, so that has been promised for the Christmas holidays! I've also made a few jars of bramble jelly - one of my favourites.
@julzmaioro No difference really, but we always refer to these fruits as brambles. Wikipedia says ...
'In British English, bramble usually refers to the common blackberry, Rubus fruticosus, which grows abundantly in all parts of the British Isles and harvesting the fruits in late summer and autumn is often considered a favourite pastime. '
I always say blackberries are one of the few free foods we get....we have some left in the freezer still I noticed the other day. Good to have for puddings but I donât bake like I used to only at special times! They freeze so well too! Good work!
