Forms in Nature - Our Fezzie

Fezzie turned up in our garden again yesterday - lord knows what he was doing. Trying to bury himself in our mulch or have a dry mud bath. Not sure! He was there for ages though and gave me plenty of time to get the camera out and catch a few snaps of him for a special appearance in black and white on Flash of Red February! Little did he know. ;-)
He's looking a little guilty ... great shot..

Ha ha, your narrative did make me laugh! Super sharp shot

Looks like he's laying an egg... which could account for his puzzled and pained expression ;-)

He's so handsome! Probably just taking a dust bath. I grew up eating pheasant every season. Now I wish my dad had just let them be. They're so beautiful.

Such lovely birds....I love it when occasionally we get one under the bird table....haven’t seen any this year, the winter isn’t hard enough!

A new kind of bath -- in leaves and dust. How interesting that it was clearly not a bit bothered by you at all.

Richard Sayer is going to have to say "she" if there is egg-laying going on. In any case the bird seems determined.
