Yesterday's hike started off with a 7km cycle into Altanour Lodge in Glen Ey (just seen in amongst the larch trees). Our first munro climbed is the one which is central in this image. From the larch trees, we crossed to the left flank of the hill, through deep heather, and climbed that side, which was fairly steep, but less steep than any other option! Walking across the long summit to the final cairn on top was lovely and we enjoyed walking close by the ridge of snow that you see on top - still pretty deep, although it doesn't look like much from a distance. We then descended over the back to the hill to reach our second munro, Carn An Righ, which you don't see in this photo.
Looking spectacular.
It's amazing where snow hangs about.
When travelling north to Mum and Dad's we were always interested to see if there was still snow on Ben Wyvis.
