We have windows! We came home on Sunday evening to find that the joiner had been good to his word and come in and replaced the two downstairs windows whilst we were away. The downside of that was that whilst hubby unpacked the car, I had to clean the house ... dust everywhere! But back on an even keel now and waiting for him to return one day to do the upstairs ones. I suspect that'll be even messier! Ah, well, you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs ...
Looking good. I think I would get hubby to do the tidying up next time the joiner returns to do the upstairs windows. What needs doing with the upstairs windows though? they look fine to me.
A lovely view of your home. Will you be putting grills on the windows, to look similar to those leaning against the walls and probably the ones just removed?
@kjarn Of course. The small pane windows are about 25 years old and the double glazing is damaged. But, they are also PVC and not in keeping with the style of window that would have originally been on the house. We are basically returning the windows to their 'original' look. The small panes should never have received planning permission as it is a Victorian house and in a restricted planning area.
@onewing Very old and 'leaky' double glazing and fastenings. I also wanted a return to the original style of window, which is in keeping with all the houses in our street.
What a lovely home you have Issi. I like that you are going back to the original look of the home with these windows. Do you have 2 fireplaces?? I can see what looks like 2 chimneys.
