All Gave Some. Some Gave All.

100 years of the Poppy of Remembrance. On November 11th, 1921, the first cloth Poppies were sold in Britain. The first Poppy Appeal raised more than £106,000 - a huge sum at the time - and the funds were used to help veterans find jobs and homes. Source : poppyscotland.org.uk. Lest We Forget.

Lovely tight shot, though I can't figure out what the poppy is attached to? So appropriate for today.

Good to know this but of history….someone’s very bright idea…a great choice of flower because it’s simple, bright & of course was growing all over the fields of France. The best symbol ever used for anything!

Hopefully we and future generations will continue to remember the life and death of those soldiers who fought for the freedoms they have.
