The end of 2021 is proving challenging. Another early morning bad news text. Isla, the salt of the earth. She collapsed at work, was airlifted to Aberdeen hospital, but never recovered. 59 years old and the most selfless, generous, caring individual I've ever come across. Not to mention talented - she knitted beautifully and was a fabulous baker.
She was one of dad's carers when he was in bad shape this time last year, and she cleared snow, paid his papers, did his shopping, poured him a dram, sat with him, brought him tasty treats - all over and above the call of duty. She even found us the couple who adopted dad's wee dog, Freuchie. And now she is no more.
This photo was in dad's photo album - Isla, in 2002 selling entrance tickets to the Braemar Highland Games.
Everyone in Braemar will miss you, Isla - you've touched the hearts of so many. RIP my friend.
Oh that's very hard news.
What a lovely smile and a beautiful sweater pattern.
I love all you have written about her....she will be missed so much by so many.
💛🙏
Oh such sad news. She really sounds as though she was an amazing person. What a shock it must have been for everyone to hear she had passed away so suddenly.
Oh my word a sad day for all in Braemar & of course your family too, your dad will be very upset. A good person like Isla can never be replaced or forgotten by all the grateful people she looked after. So very sorry for all who knew & loved her.
That is such a sad story of an amazing girl who obviously put everyone else in front of her and did so many amazing things. My heart goes out to all of you who knew her.
What a lovely smile and a beautiful sweater pattern.
I love all you have written about her....she will be missed so much by so many.
