Wild Hearth Bakery

This is my last day of self-isolation! Woo Hoo! I can't promise that my posts will suddenly become more interesting, but at least there's a chance! ;-)

This is a homage to Wild Hearth Bakery in Comrie. I started getting their bread deliveries during lockdown last year, and have kept on doing so, as their bread is so good. My favourites are the sourdough (in the bag) and the rustic French style bread. I have however stopped ordering their gorgeous croissants and pain au raisins, because they are just too 'moreish'!

Yesterday I took delivery of a batch of bread, and here they are ready to be cut in half and frozen.
They look great.. I was making a little too much bread firing lockdown I enjoyed it too much..

I just love the smell of fresh bread.

Good to hear you are soon to be out in the world again.

That looks fantastic! I have just this second put a loaf in the oven of wholemeal bread. A bit of kneading does wonders for stress!! I am allergic to soya and many commercial breads now use soya flour, so I am a tad scuppered often. No bread around for me today, so I made some.
Delighted you are on your final day and will be liberated soon! Hope you are both feeling fine and dandy.

That bread does look good. I thought that you had spent your time baking but I am sure that you have managed to occupy yourself very well. It will be good to be able to explore more outside.

Ooh those look delicious…..I’m not a great bread eater but love a sour dough or crusty loaf. We have a bakery in our village & they do various breads, must have another look as I used to buy their Donker loaf when I was B&Bing. You have arranged them very attractively.
Freedom tomorrow hooray….I feel a hike up the mountains coming in!

@callymazoo Not much of a baker, me. I've actually been amusing myself by stripping the paint from our window shutters and bringing them back to the wood. Very time consuming, but strangely cathartic.

Beautiful bread and beautiful picture, Issi. I must have lost a part of the story. Why were you on isolation? You got in contact with acovid infected person? Or were you yourself affected? It sounds that you were fine all the time and very active. In any case savour freedom! Fav

Delicious. You put yourself down when you say your photos from home are not interesting. I've enjoyed them as much as your scenic highlands.

Wow....they look pretty special. It's so fascinating how different bread can be from one little town to another. And cities of course!!
Enjoy getting out and about soon.

@caterina I tested positive for covid after my husband had it, so had to self-isolate for 10 days. However, we both had very minor symptoms (both triple vaxxed), and are quite well. However 10 days isolation is actually worse than lock down as you are not even allowed to go for walks. So glad it's behind me.

@randystreat Aw, thank you Kathy. :-)

They do look yum!

@jamibann i’m with you there. My mother stripped back all the dark wood in the manse and I came home one Christmas to this beautiful light house. What a difference! She was a good baker too!
